Bob blwyddyn yn Cymun y Crism gwahoddir yr holl glerigion a gweinidogion trwyddedig lleyg i adnewyddu eu haddewidion ordeinio a thrwyddedu.

Yn y gwasanaeth hwn bendithir olewau i'w defnyddio ar draws yr Esgobaeth; yr olew i'r claf, olew y bedydd, ac olew crism.

Mae ein Rhaglen Crism eleni yn cynnwys Cysegru'r Bwrdd-Allor newydd yng Nghorff y Gadeirlan. I ni, fel teulu Esgobaeth Bangor, bydd y gwasanaeth hwn hefyd yn gyfle i ffarwelio â’n Hesgob Cynorthwyol, Mary Stallard, cyn iddi symud i’w rôl newydd fel Esgob Llandaf yn fuan wedi Sul y Pasg.

Eleni, mae ein Rhaglen Chrism yn cael ei helaethu ymhellach trwy ychwanegu gweithgareddau prynhawn.

Yn dilyn yr Ewcharist, gwahoddir holl glerigion a gweinidogion lleyg trwyddedig i ginio ffurfiol, a fydd yn cael ei weini ym Mhrifysgol Bangor am 1.00pm. Ar ôl cinio, rhoddir Darlith Chrism gan Malcolm Guite.

Mae Malcolm Guite wedi sefydlu ei hun fel un o brif feirdd Cristnogol ein cyfnod. Ymddeolodd yn ddiweddar fel Caplan Coleg Girton Caergrawnt, ac mae’n awdur nifer o lyfrau, y mwyaf diweddar oedd “Codi’r Llen: Dychymyg a Theyrnas Dduw”.

Dr Guite yw pregethwr Wythnos Sanctaidd y Gadeirlan eleni, a bydd yn pregethu yn yr Ewcharist Gorawl am 6.00pm yn y Gadeirlan ar ddydd Llun, dydd Mawrth a dydd Mercher yr Wythnos Sanctaidd. Yn ogystal â’r ymrwymiad hwn, Dr Guite yw ein Darlithydd Chrism, a bydd yn siarad am ei ysgrifau defosiynol a’r defnydd ohonynt yn ystod y flwyddyn Eglwys.

Traddodir y ddarlith yn syth ar ôl cinio yn y Brifysgol. Disgwyliwn i Raglen Chrism ddod i ben erbyn 3.30pm.

Disgwylir i'r holl glerigion trwyddedig a gweinidogion lleyg, gan gynnwys Darllenwyr, fynychu Rhaglen lawn Crism. Fodd bynnag, os na allwch fod yna ar y diwrnod, neu ran ohono, anfonwch ymddiheuriadau i swyddfa’r Esgob drwy gysylltu â Robert Jones. Cofrestrwch eich presenoldeb gan ddefnyddio'r ffurflen isod. Rhaid cofrestru erbyn 20 Mawrth 2023.

Estynnir croeso cynnes i bawb fynychu’r gwasanaeth.

Mae nifer cyfyngedig o lefydd ar gael i eraill ymuno â ni am ginio a’r ddarlith. Dylai Arweinwyr Ardaloedd Gweinidogaeth ofyn am y llefydd hyn trwy Robert Jones ac maent ar gyfer y rhai y byddai hyn o fudd iddynt yn y weinidogaeth, gan gynnwys y rhai a allai fod yn dirnad eu galwedigaeth.

Arwisgo

Gwahoddir pob offeiriad i gyd-lywyddu (concelebrate) yr Ewcharist. Gwahoddir offeiriaid cyd-lywyddol i wisgo casog, alb a stol gwyn / casog-alb a stol gwyn.

Mae Gweinidogion Lleyg Trwyddedig sydd â Thrwydded esgobaethol nad ydynt fel arfer yn arwisgo yn cael eu gwahodd i ymuno â’r orymdaith.

Cymraeg
Esgob Cynorthwyol Bangor Mary Stallard | Assistant Bishop of Bangor Mary Stallard

Every year at the Chrism Eucharist all clergy and lay licensed ministers are invited to renew their ordination and licensing promises.

At this service oils are blessed for use across the Diocese; the oil for the sick, the oil of baptism and the oil of chrism.

Our Chrism Programme this year includes the Consecration of the new Altar-Table in the Nave of the Cathedral. For us, as the family of the Diocese of Bangor, this service will also be an opportunity to say farewell to our Assistant Bishop, Mary Stallard, before she moves to her new role as Bishop of Llandaff shortly after Easter Day.

This year, our Chrism Programme is being further enhanced by the addition of afternoon activities.

Following the Eucharist, all clergy and lay licensed ministers are invited to a formal lunch, which will be served at Bangor University at 1.00pm. After lunch, a Chrism Lecture will be given by Malcolm Guite.

Malcolm Guite has established himself as one of the leading Christian poets of our time. He has recently retired as the Chaplain of Girton College Cambridge, and is the author of several books, the most recent being “Lifting the Veil: Imagination and the Kingdom of God”.

Dr Guite is the Cathedral’s Holy Week preacher this year, and will be preaching at the 6pm Choral Eucharist at the Cathedral on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week. In addition to this commitment, Dr Guite is our Chrism Lecturer, and will be speaking about his devotional writings and their use within the Church year.

The lecture will be delivered immediately after lunch at the University. We expect the Chrism Programme to conclude by 3.30pm.

It is expected that all clergy and lay licensed ministers, including Readers, attend the full Chrism Programme. However, if you are unable to be at the day, or a part of it, please send apologies to the Bishop's office by contacting Robert Jones. Please register your attendance using the form below. Registration must be completed by 20 March 2023.

A warm welcome is extended to all to attend the service.

A limited number of spaces are available for others to join us for lunch and the lecture. These spaces should be requested by Ministry Area Leaders via Robert Jones and are for those for whom this would be beneficial in ministry, including those who may be discerning their vocation.

Vesting

All priests are invited to co-preside (concelebrate) the Eucharist. Co-presiding priests are invited to wear cassock, alb and white stole / cassock-alb and white stole.
All deacons and all Readers and Lay Licensed Ministers, are invited to wear Choir dress: cassock, surplice and scarf / cassock and cotta.
Lay Licensed Ministers holding a diocesan License who do not normally vest are invited to join the procession.

Holy Oils will be distributed after the Eucharist. Clergy should bring their own vessels.
