Oddi wrth Mary, ein Hesgob Cynorthwyol
Wythnos ymlaen o Sul y Pasg mae stori Thomas yn mynd â ni o lawenydd dathlu’r atgyfodiad yn ôl i fyd o gwestiynau ac ansicrwydd, ofn a dysg newydd.
Mae taith y Pasg yn yr Efengylau yn wir i lawer o’n profiadau ein hunain o alar. Gan adleisio ein tirwedd, gall profedigaeth ein harwain drwy ddyffrynnoedd dyfnion at fannau o luniaeth a gobaith. Rydyn ni'n cario llawer o emosiynau a meddyliau ac mae'r daith i ffydd aeddfed ac ymddiriedaeth lwyr yn y Duw sydd ond yn ein caru ni yn antur gydol oes.
Yn rhyfedd iawn, fy mhrofiad i yn aml yw bod y rhai sydd wedi dioddef llawer wedi modelu a dangos i mi urddas, amynedd a gwytnwch sydd yn aml yn gweithredu fel ffagl gobaith, gan oleuo ffordd trwy boen a thristwch. Mae stori Thomas yn gweithredu fel hyn hefyd. Ef oedd yr un oedd wedi methu gweld yr Iesu atgyfodedig. Pwy oedd yn teimlo'n chwith ac yn cael trafferth. Ond mae Iesu yn ei gyfarfod yn ei dristwch ac yn llythrennol yn cyffwrdd â'i amheuon. Gelwir Thomas “Didymus” - sef “yr efaill” er na ddywedir wrthym pwy yw ei frawd neu chwaer. Efallai mai ni yw e? Efallai y byddwn yn dod o hyd i rywbeth o'i stori yn ein hunain?
Duw ein taith. Diolch dy fod yn cwrdd â ni yn ein ffydd a'n hamheuon, yn ein llawenydd ac yn ein tristwch. Bydd gyda ni y Pasg hwn a helpa ni i dyfu mewn ffydd, gobaith a chariad, er mawl a gogoniant i ti. Amen.
Sul y Galwedigaethau
Mae Pedwerydd Sul y Pasg (Ebrill 30) yn Sul yr Alwadau, sef dydd gweddïo byd-eang am gynnydd mewn galwedigaethau i weinidogaethau Cristnogol ac i annog holl bobl Dduw i fyfyrio ar ei alwad yn eu bywyd ac i ystyried pa bethau newydd y gall fod yn eu galw. nhw i mewn. Gobeithiwn y bydd Ardaloedd Gweinidogaeth yn gwneud y gorau o Sul y Galwedigaethau fel cyfle i annog pawb i ddirnad ewyllys Duw drostynt ac i feithrin galwedigaethau.
Rydym wedi cynhyrchu adnoddau dwyieithog sydd wedi’u dylunio i helpu hwyluso gweddi, addoli a myfyrio ar alwedigaeth a gweinidogaeth, i’w defnyddio ar Sul yr Alwadau a thrwy gydol y flwyddyn. Mae rhain o fewn adran Adnoddau ein gwefan.
Pererindod i Walsingham o Gaergybi
Meddai Pat Hughes o Gaergybi:
Er bod y dyddiad gadael, sef 7 Awst, yn ymddangos yn bell yn anffodus mae'n cymryd peth amser i brosesu'r gwaith gweinyddol angenrheidiol ar y gysegrfa, yn benodol dyrannu ystafelloedd priodol ar gyfer y rhai ag anghenion unigol. Rwyf wedi neilltuo ar gyfer y grŵp hwn, yr hyn yr wyf yn gobeithio fydd y nifer cywir o ystafelloedd cysegr, yn unol â nifer y seddi coetsis sydd ar gael. Mae Awst yn fis poblogaidd iawn ar gyfer pererindod, ac yn ddealladwy, mae angen cadarnhad ar y gysegrfa ar ffurf blaendaliadau arian parod na ellir eu had-dalu i sicrhau’r archebion hynny, fel arall byddant yn cael eu canslo, a’u hailarchebu i bererinion eraill.
Er mwyn trosi archebion ystafell y Gysegrfa yn archebion wedi’u cadarnhau, a wnaiff pawb sy’n dymuno ymuno â’r daith goets fel pererinion posibl, gysylltu â Pat erbyn 26 Ebrill, i drefnu i anfon blaendal o £30 y person ymlaen.

Second Sunday of Easter
From Mary, our Assistant Bishop
One week on from Easter Sunday, the story of Thomas takes us from the joy of celebrating the resurrection back into a world of questions and uncertainty, of fear and new learning.
The Easter journey in the Gospels is true to many of our own experiences of grief. Echoing our landscape, bereavement can lead us through deep valleys and to places of refreshment and hope. We carry many emotions and thoughts and the journey to a mature faith and complete trust in the God who only loves us is a life-long adventure.
Curiously it has often been my experience that those who have suffered much have modelled and shown me a dignity, patience and resilience that often acts like a beacon of hope, lighting a way through pain and sadness. Thomas’ story acts in this way also. He was the one who had missed seeing the risen Jesus. Who felt left out and struggling. But Jesus meets him in his sorrow and literally touches his doubts. Thomas is called “the twin” although we are not told who is his sibling. Perhaps it is us? Maybe we find something of his story in ourselves?
God of our journey. Thank you that you meet us in our faith and our doubts, in our joy and in our sorrow. Be with us this Eastertide and help us to grow in faith, hope and love, to your praise and glory. Amen.
Vocations Sunday
The Fourth Sunday of Easter (30 April) is Vocations Sundays, a global day of prayer for an increase in vocations to Christian ministries and to encourage all God’s people to reflect on his call in their life and to consider what new things he may be calling them into. We hope Ministry Areas will make the most of Vocations Sunday as an opportunity to encourage everyone to discern God’s will for them and to foster vocations.
We have produced bilingual resources that are designed to help facilitate prayer, worship and reflection on vocation and ministry, for use on Vocations Sunday and throughout the year. These can be found in the Resources section of the website.
Holyhead pilgrimage to Walsingham
Pat Hughes from Holyhead says:
Although the departure date of 7 August seems distant, unfortunately the necessary shrine admin, specifically the allocation of appropriate rooms for those with individual needs, takes a while to process. I have reserved for this group, what I hope will be the correct number of shrine rooms, in line with the available number of coach seats. August is a very popular month for pilgrimage, and understandably, the shrine needs confirmation in the form of non refundable cash deposits to secure those reservations, otherwise they will be cancelled, and rebooked to other pilgrims.
In order to convert Shrine room reservations into confirmed bookings, will everyone who wishes to join the coach trip as a potential pilgrim, please contact Pat by 26 April, to arrange to forward a deposit of £30 per person.

Collection for Bishop Mary
As was announced only a few weeks ago, the Assistant Bishop has been appointed as the next Bishop of Llandaff. Bishop Mary will begin her role after Easter.
