Owain Pritchard,

Bishop David announced several significant new funding initiatives designed to support Ministry Areas. These include:

  • General Fund for church buildings and missional projects.
  • A pre-Reformation Fund for historic churches.
  • A Welsh Language Fund for worship and mission in Welsh.
  • Representative Body Delegated Funds for individual church buildings.
  • Church in Wales Growth Fund.

Expect more information about each of these funds over the next few weeks.

The Bishop introduced measures to support clergy and administration, including increased stipends for Ministry Area Leaders, new administrative positions, and enhanced relocation allowances for clergy.

While these practical measures were welcomed, Bishop David stressed that they must go hand in hand with a deepening of faith and discipleship. He concluded his address with a message of hope for the future of the Diocese of Bangor, encouraging all to step forward in faith.
