Pioneer Minister

Within the ministry entrusted by Christ to his Church, Pioneer Ministers are called to engage with the community and develop relevant forms of church within this culture, establishing these primarily for the benefit of people who are not yet members of any church. The communities they engage might be geographical but could also be demographic or interest-based. Pioneer Ministers are authorised to preach in public worship and preside at Services of the Word, especially when communicating the lessons of pioneer ministry to the wider church. Pioneers work collegially with clergy and other lay ministers and may work alongside these colleagues within Ministry Area Teams. Those called to this ministry will be able to show evidence of a gifting for this work, such as the skills to call on a wide knowledge of ways of being church.
