Esgobaeth Bangor yn estyn llaw i’r gymuned LHDTRh+
Yn dilyn agoriad Caplaniaeth LHDTRh+ (Lesbiaid, Hoyw, Deurywiol, Trawsrywiol, Intersex yn ogystal) ar gyfer Esgobaeth Bangor ym Mhorthaethwy yn Eglwys y Santes Fair ar 22 Mai 2017 gan Esgob Bangor bu gwasanaethau ym Mhorthaethwy a Chricieth. Mae'r Tîm Caplaniaeth yn cynnwys menywod a dynion hoyw a syth.
Dywedodd y Tad Dominic sy'n arwain y tîm, “Gofynnodd Esgob Andy inni sicrhau bod croeso i bawb yn ein Heglwys. Rydyn ni’n galw ar wasanaeth fel hwn ‘Bwrdd Agored’” gan ychwanegu “Rydyn ni am estyn llaw i'r nifer o bobl y mae'r Eglwys wedi eu gwahardd yn hanesyddol o'i adeiladau, o’i wasanaethau ac o'i gariad.”
Ychwamegodd y Parchedig Sara Roberts, aelod arall o'r tîm sy'n curad ym Mro Enlli ar hyn o bryd, “Rydyn ni mewn oes lle nad yw rhywioldeb dynol yn cael ei ystyried fel dewis o fyw ond mynegiant o ddelwedd Duw. Mae' gan yr Eglwys cyfrifoldeb i ofyn am faddeuant ac agor ei breichiau i'r rhai y gallai fod wedi eu brifo a'u heithrio yn y gorffennol.”
Mae'r gwasanaethau hyn yn agored i bawb sydd am gefnogi'r fenter hon ni waeth beth yw eu tueddfryd rhywiol eu hunain. Fel arfer bydd Cymun Bendigaid Dwyieithog sy’n cael ei ddilyn gan luniaeth.
Cynhelir y Gwasanaeth nesaf yn Eglwys y Santes Catherine, Cricieth ddydd Sul 29 Ebrill am 5.00yh, ac yna swper ysgafn gyda amser i rannu hanesion bywyd ac amser o gymdeithas. Mae gwahoddiad cynnes iawn i bawb a hoffai ddod a chadarnhau'r sefyllfa na ddylid eithrio unrhyw un o gariad Duw.

Diocese of Bangor reaches out to the LGBTI+ Community
Following the inauguration of the LGBTI+ Chaplaincy (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex plus) in the Diocese of Bangor at St. Mary’s Menai Bridge on 22nd May 2017 by the Right Reverend Andy John, Bishop of Bangor, this new Chaplaincy has held services in Menai Bridge and Cricieth. The Chaplaincy Team is made up of gay and straight women and men.
Father Dominic who leads the team says “Bishop Andy asked us to make sure everyone was welcome in our Church. We call a service an Open Table” adding that “we want to reach out to the many people whom the Church has historically excluded from its buildings, services and love.”
The Reverend Sara Roberts another member of the team, who is prenetly a curate in Bro Enlli adds “we are in an age where human sexuality is not seen as a lifestyle choice but an expression of God’s image. The Church has a responsibility to ask for forgiveness and open its arms to those it may have hurt and excluded in the past.”
These services are open to all those who wish to support this initiative regardless of their own sexual orientation. There is usually a bilingual Holy Eucharist followed by refreshments.
The next Service will take place at St. Catherine’s Church, Cricieth on Sunday 29th April at 5.00pm followed by a light supper and a time to share life stories and a time of fellowship. A warm invitation is extended to all who would like to attend and affirm the position that no one should be excluded from the love of God.
