Penodiad Canon Trigiannol i Gabidwl Cadeirlan Deiniol Sant, Bangor

Mae Esgob Bangor – y Gwir Barchedig Andy John – yn falch o gyhoeddi penodiad y Parchedig Ganon Philip Barratt i Gabidwl Cadeirlan Bangor, i sedd Canonicus Tertius.

Fe fydd bellach yn ymuno â’r Cabidwl yn dilyn cyfres o ymddeoliadau clerigol yn ddiweddar.

Bydd y Canon Philip yn cael ei sefydlu fel Canonicus Tertius yn ystod Gwasanaeth Gosber y Gadeirlan am 3:15yp ar Ŵyl Ioan Fedyddiwr, Dydd Sul, Mehefin 24, 2018.

Wrth edrych ymlaen at ei sefydlu, meddai’r Canon Philip, “Mae hi wedi bod yn fraint i wasanaethu’r Gadeirlan ac Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Deiniol cyn belled â hyn ac edrychaf ymlaen erbyn hyn i gymryd mwy o ran ym mywyd y Gadeirlan trwy’r Cabidwl. Mae natur hanesyddol canoniaethau eglwysi cadeiriol yn ddolen gyswllt arwyddocaol â’n hanes sydd hefyd yn helpu deall pwy ydyn ni fel cadeirlan heddiw. Fe fydd hi’n anrhydedd i gymryd fy lle yn y Cabidwl a’r cwir.“

Dywedodd Deon Bangor – y Tra Pharchedig Kathy Jones, "Rydw i wrth fy modd bod Philip wedi cael gwahoddiad i fod yn rhan o Gabidwl y Gadeirlan - mae ei bresenoldeb a'i gyfraniad i'r Gadeirlan ac Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Deiniol wedi dod ag anogaeth a chefnogaeth i gymunedau eglwysig ym Mangor ac edrychaf ymlaen i weithio ochr yn ochr efo fo fel aelod o'r Cabidwl.”

Yn ôl Esgob Bangor - y Gwir Barchedig Andy John, “Braint ydy fod wedi dod i nabod Philip ers iddo gyrraedd ac i gyd-weinidogaethu efo fo. Mae hi’n briodol, wedi cyfnod a welodd sawl newid yn ddiweddar ar y Cabidwl, bod Philip yn dod yn un o’i gydweithwyr gwerthfawr gyda’i holl brofiad allweddol, blaenorol. Cofiwch weddïo drosto, dros Deon Kathy, Cabidwl y Gadeirlan a gweinidogaeth a thystiolaeth ein Heglwys Gadeiriol, Sant Deiniol.”

Residentiary Canon appointed to the Chapter of St. Deiniol’s Cathedral, Bangor

The Bishop of Bangor - the Right Reverend Andy John - is pleased to announce the appointment of the Reverend Canon Phillip Barratt to the Chapter of Bangor Cathedral, to the stall of Canonicus Tertius.

Canon Philip, who has been the Residentiary Canon at Bangor Cathedral since last July from Manchester Cathedral, is presently one of the Cathedral’s Honorary Canons. He will now join the Chapter following a series of recent clerical retirements.

Canon Philip will be installed as Canonicus Tertius during the Cathedral’s Evensong Service at 3:15pm on the Feast of John the Baptist, Sunday 24 June, 2018.

Looking forward to his installation, Canon Philip said, “It has been a privilege to serve the Cathedral and Bro Deiniol Ministry Area thus far and I now look forward to taking a fuller part in the life of the Cathedral through the Chapter. The historic nature of cathedral canonries is a significant link to our history which also helps inform who we are as a cathedral today. It will be an honour to take my place in Chapter and in quire.“

The Dean of Bangor - the Very Reverend Kathy Jones, said, "I’m delighted that Philip has been invited to be part of the Cathedral Chapter, his presence and contribution to the Cathedral and Bro Deiniol Ministry Area has brought encouragement and support to the church communities in Bangor and I look forward to working alongside him as a member of Chapter.”

The Bishop of Bangor - the Right Reverend Andy John - said, “It has been a privilege to come to know Philip since he arrived and to minister with him. It is appropriate that after a period of many recent changes on the Chapter, Philip comes to be one of its valued colleagues with all of his valuable previous experience. Please do pray for him, for Dean Kathy, the Cathedral Chapter and the ministry and witness of our Cathedral Church of St. Deiniol.”
