Esgob Andy yn croesawu ymwelwyr o Lango, Uganda
Roedd Esgob Bangor - y Gwir Barchedig Andy John - yn falch i groesawu dau ymwelydd o'n cyfaill-esgobaeth yn Uganda heddiw (Mai 17 2018).
Cyrhaeddodd y Parchedig Ganon Lawrence Oyugi (Ficer Eglwys yr Holl Saint, Obanga pe Wany) a Joseph Atepo Lunga, (Cadeirydd y Lleygwr yn Eglwys yr Holl Saint, Obanga pe Wany) ym Mangor heddiw.
Mae Obanga pe Wany yn blwyf o fewn tref Lira, yng Ngogledd Uganda, yn Esgobaeth Lango, sy'n cyfaill-esgobaeth ag Esgobaeth Bangor.
Mae Canon Lawrence a Joseph yma yn Esgobaeth Bangor i ymweld â phobl yn Ardal Gweinidogaeth Bro'r Dwynwen, i ddathlu 15fed penblwydd y cyswllt rhwng Eglwys yr Holl Saint Obanga pe Wany ac Eglwys y Santes Fair, Llanfairpwll ac i ymestyn y cyswllt â chymunedau eglwysig eraill yn Ardal Gweinidogaeth Bro Dwynwen.
Bydd Canon Lawrence a Joseph yn aros gyda phobl Gristnogol ym Mro Dwynwen trwy gydol eu hymweliad sy’n para am bythefnos. Maent yn dychwelyd i Uganda ddydd Mawrth 29 Mai.
Meddai Esgob Andy, "Mae'n wych croesawu Canon Lawrence a Joseff i'n Hesgobaeth. Mae gen i atgofion melys o'r Sul ym mis Gorffennaf 2014 a dreuliais yn Eglwys yr Holl Saint, Obanga pe Wany.
Mae'n wych bod y cyswllt rhwng Eglwys y Santes Fair, Llanfairpwll ac Obanga pe Wany yn ymestyn ledled Bro Dwynwen a bod y 15fed penblwydd yn cael ei ddathlu fel hyn.
Fel pobl Gristnogol o wahanol ddiwylliannau a chyd-destunau, mae ‘na lawer y gallwn ei ddysgu oddi wrth ein gilydd a chymaint i ni ddathlu gyda'n cariad a’n brwdfrydedd dros yr Efengyl.
Rwyf yn gweddïo y bydd ymweliad Canon Lawrence a Joseff yn ffrwythlon a bendithiol, ac y bydd Duw yn gofalu am eu teuluoedd yn eu habsenoldeb.'

Bishop Andy welcomes Ugandan visitors from Lango
The Bishop of Bangor - the Right Reverend Andy John - was pleased to welcome two visitors today from our link diocese of Lango, Uganda (May 17 2018).
The Reverend Canon Lawrence Oyugi (Vicar of All Saints’ Church, Obanga pe Wany ) and Joseph Atepo Lunga, (Chair of Laity at All Saints Church, Obanga pe Wany) arrived in Bangor today.
Obanga pe Wany is a Parish within the town of Lira, in Northern Uganda, in the Diocese of Lango, which is a linked with the Diocese of Bangor.
Canon Lawrence and Joseph are in the Diocese to visit people in the Bro Dwynwen, Ministry Area and to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the link between All Saints Obanga pe Wany and St Mary's Church Llanfairpwll and to extend the link with other church communities in the Bro Dwynwen Ministry Area.
Canon Lawrence and Joseph will be staying with Christian people in Bro Dwynwen throughout their two week visit. They return to Uganda on Tuesday 29 May.
Bishop Andy said, “It is wonderful to welcome Canon Lawrence and Joseph to our Diocese. I have fond memories of the Sunday in July 2014 which I spent in All Saints Church, Obanga pe Wany.
It is excellent that the link between St. Mary’s Llanfairpwll and Obanga pe Wany is extending throughout Bro Dwynwen and that this 15th anniversary is being celebrated in this way.
As Christian people from different cultures and contexts, there is much that we can learn from each other and much for us to celebrate with our shared love and passion for the Gospel.
I am praying that Canon Lawrence and Joseph’s visit will be fruitful and blessed, and that God will be caring for their families in their absence.’
The official programme for this visit begins
- On Saturday 19th with a ‘Welsh Welcome’ at 7:30pm in The Pritchard Jones Hall, Newbough
- On Sunday 20th May at 10am, there is a joint service for the Bro Dwynwen and Bro Cadwaladr Ministry Areas, at Gaerwen Community Hall,
- On Sunday 27th May at 10am, there will be a farewell service in St Mary's Church, Llanfairpwll.
