Arweinydd Ardal Weinidogaeth newydd ym Mro Madryn
Mae Esgob Bangor yn falch o gyhoeddi penodiad y Parchg Ddr Kevin Ellis yn Ficer ac Arweinydd Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Madryn, sy'n gwasanaethu cymunedau gogleddol Penrhyn Llŷn.
Ar hyn o bryd mae Kevin yw Ficer ac Arweinydd Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Eleth ar Ynys Môn, gan ymuno'n wreiddiol ag Esgobaeth Bangor saith mlynedd a hanner yn ôl.
Wrth edrych ymlaen at ei rôl newydd, dywedodd Kevin:
Bydd gadael Ynys Môn ar ôl saith mlynedd a hanner yn anodd - mae wedi cynnwys rhai o'r amseroedd gorau yn fy ngweinidogaeth. Fodd bynnag, roedd y posibilrwydd i fod yn rhan o ail-lunio gweinidogaeth a chenhadaeth ar Ben Llŷn ym Mro Madryn yn gyfle hynod ddeniadol. Edrychaf ymlaen at ddod i adnabod cymunedau newydd, agor yr Ysgrythurau, a rhannu stori Iesu ledled yr Ardal Weinidogaeth.
Dywedodd Archddiacon Meirionnydd, Andrew Carroll Jones:
Rwyf wrth fy modd hefo'r newyddion bod yr Esgob wedi penodi’r Parchg Kevin Ellis i fod yn Arweinydd Ardal Weinidogaeth ym Mro Madryn. Unwaith eto, bydd yn dda croesawu 'wyneb' newydd i Archddiaconiaeth Meirionnydd - a mawr obeithiaf y bydd Kevin a'i deulu yn mwynhau'r rhan hon o'r byd ac yn ymgartrefu'n rhwydd ym mysg pobl wych a chynefin hyfryd.
Hefyd wrth groesau’r apwyntiad, dywedodd Esgob Bangor, Andy John:
Mae Kevin wedi bod yn aelod gwerthfawr o deulu'r esgobaeth ers cyrraedd ein hesgobaeth. Bydd yn dod â chyfoeth o brofiad a gwybodaeth i Fro Madryn, ac edrychaf ymlaen at barhau I gyd-gerdded ag ef yn ei weinidogaeth.
Disgwylir y bydd Kevin yn cychwyn ei weinidogaeth newydd yn yr hydref. Cyhoeddir y trefniadau ar gyfer ei drwyddedu yn agosach at yr amser. Gweddïwch dros Kevin, ei deulu, a phobl Bro Madryn a Bro Eleth.
A new Ministry Area Leader for Bro Madryn
The Bishop of Bangor is pleased to announce the appointment of the Revd Dr Kevin Ellis as Vicar & Ministry Area Leader of Bro Madryn, which serves the northern communities of the Llyn Peninsula.
Kevin is currently Vicar & Ministry Area Leader of Bro Eleth on the isle of Anglesey, having first joined the Diocese of Bangor seven and a half years ago.
Looking forward to his new role, Kevin said:
Leaving Anglesey after seven and half years will be difficult - it has involved some of the best of times in my ministry. However, the possibility to be part of reshaping ministry and mission on the Llŷn Peninsula in Bro Madryn was an opportunity that I found tremendously attractive. I look forward to getting to know new communities, opening the Scriptures, and sharing the story of Jesus across a new Ministry Area.
The Archdeacon of Meirionnydd, Andrew Carroll Jones, said:
I am delighted with the news that the Bishop has appointed Kevin to be Ministry Area Leader in Bro Madryn. Once again, it will be good to welcome a new 'face' to the Archdeaconry of Meirionnydd, and I hope that Kevin and his family will enjoy this part of the world and settle comfortably in the midst of great people and lovely surroundings.
Welcoming the appointment, the Bishop of Bangor, Andy John, said:
Kevin has been a valuable member of the diocesan family since arriving in our diocese. He will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Bro Madryn, and I look forward to continuing to walk alongside him in ministry.
It is expected that Kevin will start his new ministry in the autumn. The arrangements for his licencing will be announced closer to the time. Please pray for Kevin, his family, and the people of Bro Madryn and Bro Eleth.
