Pobl ifanc Llanidloes yn galw am newid
Cafwyd prosiect ar y cyd rhwng Llanidloes Di-garbon, Yr Eglwys yng Nghymru, ac Ysgol Uwchradd Llanidloes i hyrwyddo cynhadledd Hinsawdd y Cenhedloedd Unedig COP26 yn Glasgow.
Mae'r bobl ifanc yn credu'n angerddol bod angen inni weithredu'n awr i achub eu dyfodol. Cysylltodd Deidloeswyr Di-garbon â Debbie Peck, Gweithiwr Ieuenctid Arloeswyr Esgobaeth Bangor, i helpu i hyrwyddo digwyddiad COP26.
Cyd-drefnodd Debbie â Hannah Harrop, athrawes Daearyddiaeth yn ysgol Uwchradd Llanidloes i weithio gyda myfyrwyr yn yr Ysgol Uwchradd a chlwb Ieuenctid Spoons Eglwys Idloes Sant. Fe benderfynon nhw wneud arddangosfa ffenestr ar gyfer Oriel Gelf Minerva i dynnu sylw at y digwyddiadau yn Glasgow yr wythnos hon.
Gweithiodd 15 o bobl ifanc o glwb Ieuenctid Spoons a 6 o'r Ysgol Uwchradd ar greu 2 fyd mawr i bwysleisio lle mae'r Argyfwng Hinsawdd yn cael effaith feirniadol. Creodd 36 o fyfyrwyr o'r ysgol uwchradd daflenni ffeithiau i roi gwybod i bobl am y newidiadau sy'n digwydd.
Dywedodd Debbie:
Mae wedi bod yn fraint gweithio gyda'r bobl ifanc ar y prosiect hwn, maent yn helpu i wneud gwahaniaeth yn eu cymunedau eu hunain, a gobeithio y byddwn ni fel oedolion yn ymateb i'r her i helpu i wneud byd gwell i'n pobl ifanc a holl genedlaethau'r dyfodol ffynnu ynddo.
Os hoffech weld eu gwaith mae'n cael ei arddangos yn ffenestr Oriel y Mwynglawdd yn Llanidloes. Cynhelir digwyddiad COP26 Di-garbon yn Oriel y Mwynglawdd ar Ddydd Sadwrn 6 Tachwedd 2021 o 10am, gyda sesiwn meic agored yn dechrau am 11am, gan orffen gydag orymdaith i lawr Great Oak Street am 12pm.

Young people from Llanidloes call for change
There has been a joint project between Zero Carbon Llanidloes, The Church in Wales, and Llanidloes High School to promote the UN Climate conference COP26 in Glasgow.
The Young people passionately believe that we need to act now to save their future. Debbie Peck, Pioneer Youth Worker for the Diocese of Bangor, was approached by Zero Carbon Llanidloes to help promote the COP26 event.
Debbie co-ordinated with Hannah Harrop, a Geography teacher at Llanidloes High school to work with students at the High School and with Saint Idloes Church's Spoons Youth club. They decided to make a window display for Minerva Art Gallery to highlight the events in Glasgow this week.
15 young people from the Spoons Youth club and 6 from the High school worked on creating 2 large globes to emphasize where the Climate Crisis is having critical effects. 36 students from the high school created fact sheets to inform people of the changes that are happening.
Debbie Peck said,
It has been a privilege to work with the young people on this project, they are helping to make a difference in their own communities, and hopefully we as adults will rise to the challenge to help make a better world for our young people and all future generations to thrive in.
If you would like to see their project work it is on display in the Minerva Gallery window in Llanidloes. There will be a Zero Carbon COP26 event held in the Minerva Gallery on Saturday 6 November 2021 from 10am, with an open Mic session starting at 11am, culminating in a March down Great Oak Street at 12pm.
