Datganiad: Hospis Dewi Sant Caergybi
Rydym yn darllen gyda thristwch mawr a phryder dwfn y cyhoeddiad gan Brif Weithredwr Hosbis Dewi Sant, Gareth Jones, am gau dros dro y gwelyau cleifion mewnol yn Hosbis Caergybi.
Unrhyw un ohonom sydd wedi profi trwy deulu a ffrindiau y gofal lliniarol tyner a thosturiol ar ddiwedd oes a gynigir gan staff Hosbis Caergybi, bydd yn sylweddoli'r effaith ddinistriol y mae'r newyddion hyn yn ei ddwyn. Bydd trigolion Ynys Môn sy'n gobeithio am ofal diwedd oes yn agos i'w cartrefi yn cael eu heffeithio'n ddwfn, fel y rhai sy'n gweithio mewn swyddi clinigol ac an-glinigol yn yr hosbis.
Fel y mae'r datganiad yn ei ddweud, mae'r rhain yn gyfnodau heriol i'r elusen a'r sectorau gofal, ac yn sicr bydd yr ymddiriedolwyr wedi ymladd yn fawr gyda'r anawsterau y maent yn eu hwynebu i sicrhau bod gofal yn gynaliadwy. Rydym yn edrych at yr holl bartneriaid ariannu - Llywodraeth Cymru, y Bwrdd Iechyd Lleol a ninnau fel y cyhoedd cyffredinol trwy godi arian a rhoddion - i ymateb yn hael i'r newyddion trist iawn hwn. Rydym yn nodi bod cau'r gwelyau cleifion mewnol yn cael ei ddisgrifio fel un dros dro.
Rydym yn gobeithio'n ddiffuant y bydd yr ymddiriedolwyr yn fuan mewn sefyllfa i ailagor y gwelyau hyn, gan sicrhau bod pobl Ynys Môn yn cael y gofal gorau posib wrth i ddiwedd oes agosáu. Rydym yn talu teyrnged i'r staff sy'n cael eu heffeithio gan hyn, oherwydd maent yn galluogi'n bersonol i'r gofal hwnnw gael ei gynnig gyda chariad mor hael.

Statement: St David's Hospice Holyhead
We read with great sadness and deep concern the announcement by St David’s Hospice CEO Gareth Jones of the temporary closure of the in-patient beds in the Holyhead Hospice.
Any of us who have experienced through family and friends the gentle and compassionate end-of-life palliative care offered by the Holyhead Hospice staff will realise the devastating effect this news brings. Anglesey residents hoping for end-of-life care close to home will be deeply affected, as are those working in clinical and non-clinical positions in the hospice.
As the statement says, these are challenging times for the charity and care sectors, and certainly the trustees will have wrestled greatly with the difficulties they face to ensure that care is sustainable. We look to all the funding partners – Welsh Government, Local Health Board and ourselves as the general public through fundraising and donations – to respond generously to this very sad news. We note that the closure of the in-patient beds is described as temporary.
We sincerely hope that the trustees will soon be in a position to reopen these beds, ensuring that the people of Anglesey have the best possible care as end-of-life approaches. We pay tribute to the staff affected by this, for they enable personally that care to be offered with such generous love.
