Rwyf wedi ymwneud â chadwraeth adeiladau ar hyd fy mywyd gwaith. Mae'r fwyaf o hyn wedi bod yn Ne-ddwyrain Lloegr, Essex yn arbennig. Gweithiais i sawl awdurdod lleol, ond fy mhrif brofiad a ddaeth o weithio'n Tîm Adeiladau Hanesyddol a Chadwraeth Cyngor Swydd Essex ymhlith unigolion dawnus.
Mae gennyf ystod eang o brofiad cadwraeth adeiladau, ond roeddwn yn fwyaf addas i'r ochr ymarferol ohono, yn gweithio gyda pherchnogion, penseiri, adeiladwyr, noddwyr grantiau, cymunedau lleol, ac ati i atgyweirio a gwella adeiladau hanesyddol. Roedd hyn yn gynnwys, ar adegau, eglwysi hanesyddol, gan gynnwys achlysur pan oedd angen adleoli adeilad stabl rhestredig mewn mynwent i Barc Gwledig.
Ers 2014, rwyf wedi byw yng Ngogledd Cymru ac yn parhau â fy niddordeb mewn cadwraeth adeiladau ac wedi ychwanegu gwaith ymarferol iddo. Yn ddiweddar, rwyf wedi cynorthwyo ag atgyweirio i Eglwys Beuno Sant, Clynnog Fawr, gyda'r Parch. Rosie Dymond ac aelodau eraill yr Ardal Weinidogaeth.
Mae gennyf angerdd am eglwysi, yn bennaf oherwydd maent ein hadeiladau hanesyddol harddaf yn aml, ac rwyf yn frwd i gynorthwyo Esgobaeth Bangor gyda'u cynhaliaeth.
I have been involved in building conservation all my working life. Most of this has been in the South East of England, especially Essex. I worked for several local authorities, but my main experience came from working at Essex County Council’s Historic Buildings and Conservation Team amidst talented individuals.
I have a broad range of building conservation experience, but was most suited to its pro-active side, working with owners, architects, builders, grant funders, local communities, etc. to get important historic buildings repaired and improved. This included, from time to time, historic churches, including an occasion when a listed stable building within a churchyard had to be relocated to a Country Park.
Since 2014 I have lived in North Wales and have continued my interest in building conservation and have supplemented this with practical work. Most recently I have been assisting repairs at St Beuno’s Church, Clynnog Fawr, with Rev. Rosie Dymond and other members of the MAC.
I have a passion for churches, largely because they are very often our finest historic buildings, and I am keen to assist the Bangor Diocese with their upkeep.
