Chaplaincy
Chaplaincies provide specialist ministries in unique contexts, to particular people and for specific needs. Here are some of the chaplaincy provisions we have across the diocese:
Rural Life
The Diocese of Bangor is largely rural and those who experience some of the challenges of rural life, especially the agricultural industry, might have particular needs which require the support and ministry of a chaplain. Our diocesan rural life officer helps with chaplaincy provision and particularly through the work of ‘Tir Dewi’.

LGBTQI+
The diocesan LGBTQI+ chaplaincy is committed to ensuring that all members of the LGBTQI+ community are supported and cared for. We have a team of chaplains who are happy to provide pastoral and spiritual care to any experiencing challenges associated with their sexuality or gender identity.

Retired clergy
Retired clergy form an integral part of our diocesan family, often providing additional help and support in Ministry Areas. The chaplain to retired clergy offers a ministry of pastoral and spiritual care to all retired clergy (regardless of whether or not they have permission to officiate), as well as being a channel of communication keeping retired clergy connected to the diocese and one another.
