Lloyd Jones (1966-2020)

Annwyl gyfeillion

Ysgrifennaf atoch i'ch hysbysu bod ein brawd a'n cyfaill, Lloyd Jones, wedi’n gadael, a'i fod gyda'i Arglwydd a'i Dduw. Bu farw Lloyd yn sydyn ac yn annisgwyl gartref yng Nghlynnog Fawr dros nos.

Bydd rhai ohonoch wedi derbyn y wybodaeth hon eisoes, ac wedi cysylltu â Casi i fynegi eich cydymdeimlad a'ch cariad. Cofiwn hefyd heddiw am gynulleidfaoedd Lloyd yn Ardal Weinidogaeth Beuno Sant Uwch Gwyrfai, a'i gydweithwyr agos yn yr archddiaconiaeth a thu hwnt, wrth iddynt hwythau ddod i delerau â'r newyddion trasig hwn.

Mae Lloyd wedi bod wrth graidd bywyd ein hesgobaeth ers blynyddoedd lawer, gan wasanaethu ei eglwysi a'i gymunedau â gofal ac ymroddiad. Fel offeiriad, ficer a Deon Bro, ymroddiad a hiwmor oedd rhinweddau ei weinidogaeth, ac ni fyddwn yn anghofio ei angerdd, ei hwyl wrth adrodd stori, a'i chwerthin llon. Yng ngalar y foment hon, rwy’n siŵr y byddai Lloyd am inni serio’n golwg ar obaith yr atgyfodiad a’r addewid a roddir inni o oleuni y bywyd tragwyddol.

Bydd mwy i’w ddweud er côf am Lloyd ac am drefniadau angladd maes o law, ond yn y cyfamser a gaf ofyn ichi gynnal Casi, Tomos a Dafydd yn eich gweddïau.

Bydded i eneidiau'r ffyddloniaid orffwys mewn hedd, trwy drugaredd Duw. Amen.

Lloyd Jones (1966-2020)

Dear friends

I am writing to you to inform you that our brother and colleague, Lloyd Jones, has passed away and is with his Lord and God. Lloyd died suddenly and unexpectedly at home in Clynnog Fawr overnight.

Some of you will know this information already, and have contacted Casi to express your sympathy and love. We think also of Lloyd’s congregations in the Ministry Area of Beuno Sant Uwch Gwyrfai, and of his close colleagues within the archdeaconry and beyond, as they come to terms with this tragic news.

Lloyd has been at the heart of diocesan life for many years, serving his churches and communities with care and devotion. As a priest, vicar and Area Dean, Lloyd brought dedication and humour to his ministry, and we will not forget his passion, his story-telling and his laughter. In the grief of this moment, I am sure that Lloyd would also want us to hold fast to the hope of resurrection and the promise of eternal light and life.

There will be more to say about Lloyd’s legacy and about funeral arrangements in due course, but in the meantime may I ask you to hold Casi, Tomos and Dafydd in your prayers.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
