Arweinydd Ardal Weinidogaeth newydd ym Mro Cwyfan

Y Parchg Vince Morris gyda'r Esgob | The Revd Vince Morris with the Bishop

Mae Esgob Bangor yn falch o gyhoeddi penodiad y Parchg Vince Morris yn Ficer ac Arweinydd Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Cwyfan, sy'n gwasanaethu cymunedau Bodedern, y Fali a'r cylch ar Ynys Môn.

Cafodd Vince ei eni a'i fagu yn Rhydychen, lle dechreuodd archwilio ei ffydd gyntaf. Ar ôl gadael yr ysgol bu’n gweithio mewn amryw o swyddi, gan gynnwys gwerthu gwydr ac fel technegydd graffeg ym Mhrifysgol Rhydychen Brookes. Gan newid gyrfa, symudodd i Swydd Efrog lle cyfarfuwyd a phriodi ei wraig Louise. Ar ôl sawl swydd ledled y DU, ymgartrefodd ef a Louise yng Ngogledd Cymru.

Yn 2016, cychwynnodd Vince ei hyfforddiant ordeinio yn Athrofa Padarn Sant yng Nghaerdydd ac ar ôl lleoliadau yn y Drindod Sanctaidd yn Llandudno, a hyfforddi ym Mro Gwydyr, fe’i hordeiniwyd yn ddiacon ym mis Mehefin 2018 a’i benodi’n gurad cynorthwyol ym Mro Tysilio, gan wasanaethu’r cymunedau Porthaethwy, Pentraeth, Benllech a'r cylch.

Ganwyd y ddau o blant Vince (Alex, 14 a Arwen, 10) yng Ngogledd Cymru ac mae ef a’i wraig yn ddysgwyr brwd o Gymraeg. Mae Vince yn mwynhau criced, rygbi a phêl-droed (er yn anffodus ei fod wedi'i gyfyngu'n i'r standiau'r dyddiau hyn) ac yn ei amser hamdden mae'n gweithio'n agos gyda Chadetiaid Awyr y Llu Brenhinol, ledled Gogledd Cymru.

Mae gan Vince ddiddordeb angerddol mewn addysg a gweithio gyda phobl ifanc a theuluoedd, ac mae'n edrych ymlaen at archwilio gweinidogaethau efengylaidd newydd, yn ogystal â gwella ei Gymraeg gyda phawb ym Mro Cwyfan.

Wrth edrych ymlaen at ei rôl newydd, dywedodd Vince:

Mae wedi bod yn fendith ac yn fraint gwasanaethu pobl Bro Tysilio dros y tair blynedd diwethaf. Gan weithio ac addoli ochr yn ochr â thîm mor wych ac ymroddedig o glerigwyr a gweinidogion lleyg, gan helpu i adeiladu a datblygu gweinidogaeth plant a gofal bugeiliol ar draws ardal weinidogaeth.

Rwy’n hynod o gyffrous o allu gweithio ym Mro Cwyfan ac rwyf yn edrych ymlaen at yr heriau o ddatblygu gweinidogaethau newydd, ynghyd ag ehangu’r rhai presennol a helpu i ddatblygu a rhannu cariad Crist yn y rhan hyfryd hon o Ogledd Cymru.

Dywedodd Archddiacon Ynys Môn, Andy Herrick:

Rwyf yn hapus fod Vince yn gallu aros gyda ni ar Ynys Môn yn dilyn ei amser fel curad ym Mro Tysilio. Ers dechrau ei weinidogaeth ordeiniedig dair blynedd yn ôl, mae ei roddion a'i sgiliau wedi datblygu a chryfhau, ac mae'n ddelfrydol ar gyfer arwain Ardal Weinyddiaeth Bro Cwyfan i'r dyfodol. Mae eisoes wedi ymgartrefu yn Nhîm Gweinidogaeth yr Archddiaconiaeth ac rwy’n siŵr y bydd yn parhau i fod yn rhan annatod o bethau ledled yr ynys. Ond rwy'n edrych ymlaen yn arbennig at ei weinidogaeth ym Mro Cwyfan wrth i fentrau newydd ddechrau, addoli datblygu mewn ffyrdd creadigol, ac ymarfer gofal bugeiliol gyda diwydrwydd a thosturi. Mae Vince eisoes wedi gwneud y rhain yn nodweddion ei weinidogaeth ym Mro Tysilio a gwn y byddant yn parhau i fod felly wrth iddo symud i Fro Cwyfan.

Hefyd wrth groesau’r apwyntiad, dywedodd Esgob Bangor, Andy John:

Gyda llawenydd mawr, cyhoeddaf benodiad y Parchedig Vince Morris i'w rôl newydd. Mae gan Vince ystod eang o roddion a sgiliau y bydd yn dod â nhw i Fro Cwyfan. Edrychaf ymlaen at ei weinidogaeth barhaus yn yr esgobaeth.

Bydd Vince yn cael ei drwyddedu i'w rôl newydd ym mis Mehefin. Cyhoeddir y trefniadau yn agosach at yr amser, ac yn unol ag unrhyw gyfyngiadau ar y pryd. Gweddïwch dros Vince, ei deulu a phobl Bro Cwyfan.

A new Ministry Area Leader for Bro Cwyfan

Y Parchg | The Revd Vince Morris

The Bishop of Bangor is pleased to announce the appointment of the Revd Vince Morris as Vicar and Ministry Area Leader of Bro Cwyfan, which serves the communities around Bodedern, and Valley on the Isle of Anglesey.

Vince was born and grew up in Oxford, where he first began to explore his faith. After leaving school he worked in various jobs, including selling glass and as a graphics technician at Oxford Brookes University. Changing career, he moved to Yorkshire where he met and married his wife Louise. After various postings throughout the UK, he and Louise settled in North Wales.

In 2016, Vince began his ordination training at Saint Padarn’s Institute in Cardiff and after placements in Holy Trinity in Llandudno, and training in Bro Gwydyr, he was ordained a deacon in June 2018 and appointed assistant curate in Bro Tysilio, serving the communities around Menai Bridge, Pentraeth and Benllech.

Both of Vince’s children (Alex, 14 and Arwen, 10) were born in North Wales and he and his wife are enthusiastic Welsh learners. Vince enjoys cricket, rugby and football (though sadly constrained to the stands these days) and in his spare time works closely with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, throughout North Wales.

Vince has a passionate interest in education and working with young people and families, and is looking forward to exploring new evangelistic ministries, as well as improving his Welsh with everyone in Bro Cwyfan.

Looking forward to his new role, Vince said,

It has been a blessing and a privilege to serve the people of Bro Tysilio over the last three years. Working and worshiping alongside such a fantastic and dedicated team of clergy and lay ministers, helping to build and develop children’s ministry and pastoral care across the ministry area.

I am immensely excited and honoured at the prospect of working in Bro Cwyfan and looking forward to the challenges of developing new ministries, as well as expanding existing ones and helping to develop and share the love of Christ in this beautiful part of North Wales.

The Archdeacon of Anglesey, Andy Herrick, said,

I am thrilled that Vince is going to be able to stay with us on Anglesey following his time as curate in Bro Tysilio. Since beginning his ordained ministry three years ago, his gifts and skills have developed and strengthened, and he is ideally suited to leading Bro Cwyfan Ministry Area into the future. He has already settled into Archdeaconry’s Ministry Team and I’m sure he will continue to be an integral part of things across the island. But I am especially looking forward to his ministry in Bro Cwyfan as new initiatives flourish, worship develops in creative ways, and pastoral care is exercised with diligence and compassion. Vince has already made these the hallmarks of his ministry in Bro Tysilio and I know they will continue to be so as he moves to Bro Cwyfan.

Welcoming the appointment, the Bishop of Bangor, Andy John, said

It is with great joy I announce the appointment of the Reverend Vince Morris to his new role. Vince has a wide range of gifts and skills that he will bring to Bro Cwyfan. I look forward to his continued ministry in the diocese.

Vince will be licenced to his new role in June. The arrangements will be announced closer to the time, and in accordance with any restrictions at the time. Please pray for Vince, his family and the people of Bro Cwyfan.
