Y Tra Pharchg Kathy Jones

Rwy’n cyhoeddi heddiw’r newydd bod ein Deon, y Tra Pharchg Kathy Jones, wedi’i phenodi’n Arweinydd Cymorth i Deuluoedd yn Hosbis Katharine House yn Stafford.

Mae Kathy yn dychwelyd i'r maes arbenigedd y gwnaethom allu ei recriwtio ohono fel Deon yn 2015. Yn ei chyfnod fel Deon, mae Kathy wedi galluogi'r Eglwys Gadeiriol i ddod yn le o groeso a lletygarwch. Mae hi wedi datblygu bywyd mewnol yr Eglwys Gadeiriol gyda dyfeisgarwch a chreadigrwydd ac wedi ennill parch y gymuned ehangach yn ogystal â chynulleidfaoedd Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Deiniol.

Bydd colled fawr ar ei hôl hi a Paul, a dymunwn bob hapusrwydd iddynt yn eu bywyd ger Stafford.

O ran ei phenodiad newydd, nododd Kathy:

Mae'n fraint fawr cael fy ngwahodd i fod yn bennaeth ar y tîm cymorth i deuluoedd yn Hosbis Katharine House, gan gefnogi cleifion â chyflyrau sy'n cyfyngu ar fywyd, a'r rhai sy'n agos atynt, i fyw bywyd mor llawn â phosibl a gwneud y gorau o'r amser sydd ganddyn nhw.

Mae Paul a minnau’n ddiolchgar am yr holl gariad a chefnogaeth a gawsom yn ystod fy nghyfnod fel Deon. Mae wedi bod yn anrhydedd gwasanaethu’r Eglwys Gadeiriol, dinas Bangor, yr esgobaeth a’r dalaith, ac i weithio gyda chydweithwyr a ffrindiau. Mae fy niolch yn fawr i Dîm Ardal Weinidogaeth Bro Deiniol, i Esgob Andy ac i Gyngor yr Esgob am eu cefnogaeth, eu harweiniad a’u cydweithrediad yn ystod fy nghyfnod fel Deon.

Dydd Sul olaf Kathy gyda ni fydd 27 Mehefin. Bydd gwasanaeth yn cael ei gynnal yn yr Eglwys Gadeiriol am 10.30am, ac rwy'n ddiolchgar am ei chytundeb y dylai hwn fod yn wasanaeth unedig ar gyfer yr Ardal Weinidogaeth. Bydd manylion pellach am y gwasanaeth yn cael eu rhyddhau yn agosach at yr amser ac yng ngoleuni rheoliadau'r llywodraeth ynghylch mynychu addoliad.

Rwyf hefyd yn eich hysbysu ein bod yn bwriadu cyflwyno arwydd o'n gwerthfawrogiad o weinidogaeth Kathy yn y gwasanaeth hwnnw. Os hoffech chi gyfrannu tuag at hyn, gellir gwneud cyfraniad ar-lein trwy gyfrif PayPal yr esgobaeth a gellir anfon sieciau, yn enw “Bwrdd Cyllid Esgobaeth Bangor”, at Ysgrifennydd yr Esgobaeth, Tŷ Deiniol, Clos y Gadeirlan, Bangor LL57 1RL.

The Very Revd Kathy Jones

I am announcing today the news that our Dean, the Very Revd Kathy Jones, has been appointed as Family Support Leader to Katharine House Hospice in Stafford.

Kathy is returning to the field of expertise from which we were able to recruit her as Dean in 2015. In her time as Dean, Kathy has enabled the Cathedral to become a place of welcome and hospitality. She has developed the inner life of the Cathedral with invention and creativity and won the respect of the wider community as well as the congregations within the Ministry Area of Bro Deiniol.

She and Paul will be greatly missed, and we wish them every happiness in their life near Stafford.

Regarding her new appointment, Kathy stated:

It is a great privilege to be invited to head up the family support team at Katharine House Hospice, supporting patients with life limiting conditions, and those close to them, to live life as fully as possible and make the most of the time that they have.

Paul and I are grateful for all the love and support that we have received during my time as Dean. It has been an honour to serve the Cathedral, the city of Bangor, the diocese and the province, and to work with colleagues and friends. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Bro Deiniol Ministry Area Team, to Bishop Andy and to the Bishop’s Council for their support, guidance and colleagueship during my time as Dean.

Kathy’s final Sunday with us will be 27 June. A service will take place at the Cathedral at 10.30am, and I am gratefully for her agreement this should be a united service for the Ministry Area. Further details about the service will be circulated closer to the time and in light of government regulations about attendance at acts of worship.

I am also informing you we intend to present a token of our appreciation for Kathy’s ministry at that service. If you would like to contribute towards this, an online contribution can be made via the diocesan PayPal account and cheques can be sent, made out “Bangor Diocesan Board of Finance”, to The Diocesan Secretary, Tŷ Deiniol, Cathedral Close, Bangor LL57 1RL.
