Mae Eglwys Gadeiriol Bangor yn chwilio am Gyfarwyddwr Dros Dro Cyllid a Gweithrediadau profiadol i helpu i ymgorffori neu roi'r systemau, y prosesau a'r adroddiadau cywir i gefnogi dyfodol yr Eglwys Gadeiriol.

- Goruchwylio'r gwaith o gynnal cofnodion ariannol cywir a thryloyw yn unol â rheoliadau elusennau ac arferion gorau'r Eglwys yng Nghymru.
- Sicrhau rheolaethau ariannol cadarn a rheoli llif arian yn effeithiol, gan gynnwys goruchwylio cyflogres, anfonebu a phrosesau ariannol eraill.
- Sefydlu cylch adrodd ariannol rheolaidd ar gyfer y Deon a'r Cabidwl (Y corff Ymddiriedolwyr) a Chyngor Ardal Gweinidogaeth Bro Deiniol.

Interim Appointment (6 Months)
Help Build the Foundations for Bangor Cathedral's Future
Bangor Cathedral is looking for an experienced, hands-on Interim Director of Finance and Operations to help embed or put in the right systems, processes and reporting to support the Cathedral's future.
This is not a consultancy role. We need someone who can roll up their sleeves and embed and / or develop good financial processes and systems as well as assist the Dean and Chapter in finalising and embedding work already in process to develop good governance structures.

By the end of the six months, the Cathedral will have:
- Clear and timely financial reporting.
- Effective budget and cash-flow management.
- Stronger financial controls and procedures.
- Better operational systems and ways of working.
- Improved governance and accountability.

Purpose of the Role
To provide hands-on leadership of Bangor Cathedral's finance and operational functions over a six-month period, embedding or establishing effective financial and administrative processes, improving day-to-day financial management information, and creating the systems, controls and routines required for the Cathedral to operate efficiently and sustainably.
The role is expected to deliver practical improvements, leaving the Cathedral with clear processes, reliable financial information and a stronger operational and governance foundation for the future.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
The postholder will:
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and transparent financial records in line with charity regulations and Church in Wales best practice.
- Ensure robust financial controls and effective cash flow management, including overseeing payroll, invoicing and other financial processes.
- Establish a regular financial reporting cycle for the Dean and Chapter Trustee Body, and the Bro Deiniol Ministry Area Council.
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Develop a realistic annual budget, budget-monitoring process, cash-flow forecasting and reporting.
- Build confidence in financial management across the organisation.
Operations, Leadership & Governance
The postholder will:
- Support the Dean and Chapter in fulfilling their statutory and charity responsibilities and ensuring compliance with Church in Wales, charity and financial legislation.
- Maintain up to date risk registers and ensure that effective safeguarding, health and safety and insurance procedures are adhered to.
- Act as chapter clerk and support chapter meetings with best practice in terms of governance, administration and processes.
- Ensure important policies, procedures and records are in place and accessible.
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience in financial management within the public sector.
- Strong financial literacy with the ability to produce and interpret management accounts and communicate this effectively to different audiences.
- Ability to work both strategically and operationally.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, good practice in terms of compliance and safeguarding within the charity sector.
- Understanding of, and commitment to the cultural context of the city of Bangor.
- Commitment to the values of the Church in Wales.
Desirable
- Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent).
- Experience within churches, cathedrals, charities or not-for-profit organisations.
- Experience working with trustees, governors or non-executive boards.
- Fluency in written and spoken Welsh.
