Obanga pe Wany is a Parish within the town of Lira, in Northern Uganda, in the Diocese of Lango, which is a linked with the Diocese of Bangor.

Canon Lawrence and Joseph are in the Diocese to visit people in the Bro Dwynwen, Ministry Area and to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the link between All Saints Obanga pe Wany and St Mary's Church Llanfairpwll and to extend the link with other church communities in the Bro Dwynwen Ministry Area.

Canon Lawrence and Joseph will be staying with Christian people in Bro Dwynwen throughout their two week visit. They return to Uganda on Tuesday 29 May.

Bishop Andy said, “It is wonderful to welcome Canon Lawrence and Joseph to our Diocese. I have fond memories of the Sunday in July 2014 which I spent in All Saints Church, Obanga pe Wany.

It is excellent that the link between St. Mary’s Llanfairpwll and Obanga pe Wany is extending throughout Bro Dwynwen and that this 15th anniversary is being celebrated in this way.

As Christian people from different cultures and contexts, there is much that we can learn from each other and much for us to celebrate with our shared love and passion for the Gospel.

I am praying that Canon Lawrence and Joseph’s visit will be fruitful and blessed, and that God will be caring for their families in their absence.’
