Ymwelydd arbennig i Ysgol San Siôr!

Fe dderbyniodd yr unig ysgol gynradd eglwysig wirfoddol a gynorthwyir Esgobaeth Bangor ymwelydd arbennig y bore yma (6.7.18) pan ddaeth Tywysog Siarl i Ysgol San Siôr yn Llandudno, fel rhan o'i ymweliad mis Gorffennaf i Gymru.

Mae'r ysgol yn adnabyddus fel ysgol sy'n hyrwyddo gwybodaeth am anifeiliaid, yr amgylchedd yn ogystal â chynnal busnes wyau a mêl llwyddiannus, ymhlith pethau eraill.

Nid yn unig mae'r disgyblion yn rhan allweddol o ofalu am yr anifeiliaid a'r busnes, ond mae'n rhaid iddynt hefyd werthuso ei werth fel rhan o'u cwricwlwm llythrennedd, rhifedd a chymhwysedd digidol.

Mae'r ysgol wedi ennill gwobrau ac fe'i cyflwynwyd ar raglenni fel 'Countryfile' sawl gwaith.

Wrth edrych yn ôl ar ymweliad Tywysog Siarl, dywedodd Pennaeth yr ysgol, Mr. Ian Keith Jones - sy'n ecolegydd brwd iawn -

"meddai Tywysog Siarl ei fod yn llawn edmygedd am yr hyn a gyflawnwyd gennym a bod yr hyn a welodd heddiw yn Ysgol San Siôr yn ysbrydoledig. Rwyf mor falch o bawb yn yr ysgol - plant, staff a rhieni - am yr hyn y gallwn ei gyflawni gyda'n gilydd!"

A special visitor to Ysgol San Siôr

The Diocese of Bangor’s only voluntary aided church primary school received a special visitor this morning (6.7.18) when HRH Prince Charles came to Ysgol San Siôr in Llandudno, as part of his annual July visit to Wales.

The school is well known as a school which promotes care for animals, the environment as well as having a successful egg and honey business, amongst other things.

Not only are the pupils are a key part of the caring for the animals and the business, but they also have to evaluate it worth as part of their literacy, numeracy and digital competency curriculum.

The school has gained awards and been featured on programmes such as ‘Countryfile’ on several occasions.

Reflecting on Prince Charles visit, the school’s Headteacher, Mr. Ian Keith Jones, who is a very keen ecologist, said

“Prince Charles said that he was full of admiration for what we have achieved and that what he saw today at Ysgol San Siôr was inspirational. I am so proud of everyone at the school - children, staff and parents - for what we are able to achieve together!”
