Dathlu canmlwyddiant
Mae 2020 yn nodi canmlwyddiant y datgysylltiad a ffurfio'r Eglwys yng Nghymru ar ei newydd wedd. Fel ar unrhyw benblwydd, dyma gyfle i edrych yn ôl ac i ystyried pwy ydym ni bellach.
Pererindod i Rhufain Dros dridiau, byddwn yn canolbwyntio ar dri sant sy'n ganolog i hanes y cymunedau Cristnogol cynharaf yn Rhufain: Sant Pedr yr Apostol, Esgob cyntaf Rhufain; y Pab Sant Clement I, Esgob Rhufain ar ddiwedd y ganrif gyntaf ac awdur testunau Cristnogol cynnar pwysig; a Santes Agnes, a ddioddefodd ferthyrdod ar ddechrau'r bedwaredd ganrif yn ystod erledigaeth yr ymerawdwr Diocletian.
Mi fydd gwasanaeth arbennig yn cael ei chynnal yng Nghadeirlan Bangor ar yn unol â phob Gadeirlan arall yng Nghymru. Cynnhelir y gwasanaeth ar Fehefin 7fed am 3.30yp
Mi fydd Esgob Bangor, y Gwir Barchedig Andy John yn teithio’r Esgobaeth ag yn ymweld â rhai ardaloedd - lleoliadau, dyddiadau ag ameroedd iw gadarnhau.
Our centenary
2020 marks the centenary of disestablishment and the formation of the Church in Wales as we now know it. As at any anniversary, we will find ourselves looking back and reflecting on who we have become.
Pilgrimage to Rome Over three days, the focus will be on three saints at the heart of the earliest Christian communities in Rome: St Peter the Apostle, the first Bishop of Rome; Pope St Clement I, Bishop of Rome at the end of the first century and the author of important early Christian texts; and St Agnes, who suffered martyrdom at the beginning of the fourth century during the persecutions of the emperor Diocletian.
A special service will be held at Bangor Cathedral in unison with all of the Cathedral’s in Wales. The service will take place on June 7th at 3.30pm
The Bishop of Bangor, the Right reverend Andy John, will visit certain areas within the Diocese – locations, dates and times are to be confirmed.
