Cymraeg

We are seeking three administrators who will be based in one of our three Archdeaconries - Anglesey, Bangor, and Meirionydd.

Employer: The Diocese of Bangor (Bangor Diocesan Board of Finance)

Accountable to: Archdeacon of John Harvey (Ynys Môn), Archdeacon David Parry or Archdeacon Robert Townsend (Meirionydd)

Deadline: 6th December 2024

Salary: £27,000 plus 10% pension contribution. Full time – 35 hours a week.

Main purposes of job

1. Enabling the delivery of diocesan mission priorities by effective administration

2. Supporting the work of our Synod, Area Dean and Archdeacon

3. Assisting Ministry Areas, particularly those without a current Ministry Area Leader (Vicar)

Key tasks

1. Establish and maintain administrative systems, including a database

2. Promote good practice and assist local church leaders to find sources of help or funding

3. Act as a bilingual clerk to the Synod and other archdeaconry meetings

4. Liaise with Ministry Area Leaders, diocesan departments, and external organisations

5. Oversee the provision of ministers for funerals and some worship rotas

6. Undertake other one-off pieces of delegated work

Key results/objectives

1. Consistently high standards of administration and communication across the archdeaconry

2. Positive and mutually beneficial relationships with local leaders and other stakeholders

3. Progress achieved in the delivery of agreed priorities

Required Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Some administrative experience
  • Experience of Microsoft
  • Workplace Welsh language skills (support available for written Welsh)
  • Highly organised and able to take initiative

Desirable

  • Experience of working in community or voluntary sector
  • Driving licence and access to car
  • Knowledge of church or voluntary sector
